Glen Ridge, NJ Navigator

   Isabel Elayne Lockwood Field of Forked River New Jersey passed away on January 19, 2012 at the age of 91.
     Isabel was born in Brooklyn NY on May 27, 1920, daughter of Isabel Tyte Lockwood and Henry Cooper Lockwood.  Isabel grew up in Brooklyn and attended Adelphi Academy where she enjoyed sports and music.  Isabel married Henry C. Field Jr. in 1942 and moved to Glen Ridge New Jersey in 1945.  Isabel lived in Glen Ridge until 2006 when her husband passed away, and Isabel moved to Forked River. 
    Isabel raised six children while in Glen Ridge; Ruth M. Field, Henry C. Field, Ellen F. Field, James L. Field, Richard H. Field, and William E. Field.  Isabel enjoyed a career as a respected and loved child care provider and spent many years nurturing children in Glen Ridge.  Isabel was an avid sports fan.  Isabel and Henry were familiar figures in Glen Ridge and participated in many activities with their children in school, sports, and at Christ Church choirs. 
    Isabel was preceded in death by her parents Isabel and Henry Lockwood, her two sisters Betty Hollis and Ruth MacIntosh, her husband Henry C. Field Jr., and her son Henry C. Field III.  Isabel is survived by daughter Ruth and her husband Len Matteson, daughter –in-law Cris Field, daughter Ellen and her husband Ed Merkel, son James and his wife Peg, son Richard and his wife Susan, and son William and his wife Joan. Isabel is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 
   The family invites family members and friends to a memorial service at Riggs Funeral Home at 130 North Route 9, Forked River, NJ 08731 on Saturday January 28, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Donations may be made to Freeman Gardens, 12 Astor Pl.
