The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team hopes to make a strong postseason run.
The fifth-seeded Ridgers will host No. 12 seed Technology in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 tournament on March 1.
The quarterfinals are March 3. The semifinals are March 5 and the final is March 9.
Andrea Fraser scored 25 points, pulled down nine rebounds and blocked four shots to pace the Ridgers to a 49-35 win at Bloomfield on Feb. 18. Kristen Cousins had 11 points and Jordan Smith netted eight points for GRHS.
The Ridgers lost at Nutley, 51-44, the previous day.
Cousins scored 20 points and had seven rebounds, and Mary Alati had 13 points, three rebounds and two assists in the 55-41 home win over Montclair Kimberley Academy on Feb. 22. Fraser had 10 points for the Ridgers, who improved to 14-7.
The Ridgers defeated Verona, 47-40, on Feb. 12 at home.
