The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team enjoyed a strong run in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 tournament.
The fifth-seeded Ridgers advanced to the semifinals, but lost to ninth-seeded University, 55-24, on March 5 at GRHS. The loss snapped the Ridgers’ five-game winning streak and ended their season at 17-8. Senior center Andrea Fraser had 24 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks and four steals to lead the Ridgers to a 43-28 quarterfinal win over fourth-seeded Dayton on March 3 in Springfield. Sophomore guard Danielle Lisovicz had 11 points for GRHS.
