Caroline Thiele scored eight points and Mary Alati, Eileen McAuley and Caroline Smith each had six points to lead the Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team to a 44-16 win over Science Park on Jan. 12 in Newark.
With the win, the Lady Ridgers snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 3-5.
The Ridgers jumped out to a 12-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 10-2 at halftime.
The Ridgers then outscored Science Park, 14-0, in the third quarter.
Victoria Finlay, Alexia DeLeers and Tess Powell each had four points; and Danielle Lisovicz, Maggie Moriarty, Emily Marhan each had two points for the Ridgers.
