The Glen Ridge Athletic Association U8 travel baseball team completed its impressive 2010 season on July 17 with back-to-back victories against Long Hill and Florham Park, clinching the Suburban NJ American East summer league title with a 10-1-1 record.
The team also took second place earlier in the season in the Montville spring league, and has compiled a convincing overall record of 19-4-1 since beginning 2010 play back in April.
Strong pitching and stingy defense has been the team’s mainstay. On average, the team held opponents to a remarkable 2.1 runs per game.
“We’re very proud of the boys and thrilled at how far they’ve come,” said coach Chris Rich. “No team practiced harder or had more fun together, and that made all the difference.”
