Glen Ridge U9 baseball team posts memorable campaign

The Glen Ridge U9 travel baseball team finished the spring season with an overall record of 14-5, 9-3 in the Montville League. The team finished the regular season in first place in the East Division, but was ousted from the playoffs in the semifinal round by Union.
The team moved from the spring campaign right into summer play and had a 5-3 record. The season started with a 13-1 win at Sherman Avenue Field over Florham Park. Losses to Wayne PAL and Livingston sandwiched a win over Roseland. A three-game winning streak that saw the team score an average of 11 runs a game followed. A tough defeat at Verona by a 10-7 score dropped the record to 5-3 with three games remaining.
At 5-3, the team was currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Division and the team will need to stay in the top four to qualify for the playoffs.
The team is paced by infielders Owen Hannigan, Jack Bagin, Simon Ogilvie, Ege Zeybek and John Mitzak. The outfield is patrolled by Elijah Robinson, Simon Low, Tyler Fazekas and Ian Buchanan. Aidan Gaul and Tyler Strong share the catching duties.
